About R & D Industries

R & D Industries, Inc. is entering its 20th year in the business of providing proper acoustical solutions and incredible sound to thousands of customers throughout the Midwest.

Steeped in traditional engineering practices taught by legends in earlier years of audio engineering, RDI continues to lead in the fields of sound reinforcement, video systems, and architectural acoustics. By utilizing the best in advanced computer based measurement systems and electro-acoustical modeling, RDI has a clear vision of where technology has taken us in the past and where it can take our clients in the future.

In the past, members of our staff have collaborated with many of today's industry leaders to help define the correlation between what we hear and what we scientifically measure. Through Syn-Aud-Con with Don and Carolyn Davis, (Authors of Sound System Engineering, ISBN# 0240803051), RDI has contributed to the understanding of sound reinforcement intelligibility by presenting data at numerous Syn-Aud-Con conferences. This important early work helped to pave the way for some of the widely accepted measurement standards utilized throughout the audio industry today.

Currently, two of the six people in Iowa who have been certified in Low Voltage Audio Systems by the National Institute for Certification of Engineering Technologies (NICET) practice as system engineers at R & D Industries. That drive to excel, along with its continued affiliation with professional agencies such as the American Institute of Architects, NCSA, and Syn-Aud-Con, defines R & D Industries as a progressive organization that stands above all others.

With its home office in Milford, Iowa, R & D Industries recently expanded to accommodate our clients by adding satellite offices in both Des Moines, Iowa, and Minneapolis, Minn. Moving forward in our growth only improves our commitment to clients in Iowa, Minnesota, eastern South Dakota, and eastern Nebraska.
