We have all been to a sporting event - basketball or football
game, swim meet, hockey match, etc. - during which it was difficult
to comprehend what was being said by the event's announcer. Oftentimes
the volume is loud enough, but intelligibility is poor. This could
be caused by improper acoustics, an improper sound reinforcement
system, or a combination of both.
Regardless, the engineers at R & D Industries can find the
root of the problems in existing venues, as well as assist architects
in overcoming these problems during the design phase of a new
project, and recommend steps to correct these problems. Sometimes
the issue can be corrected acoustically through room treatments
and modifications, and other times changes in the sound reinforcement
system can accomplish better intelligibility and overall sound.
