| A pair of northwest Iowa acoustics experts were selected to lecture architects
at an annual Iowa architects convention last week at the Polk County Convention
Complex in Des Moines.
Senior engineering consultant Mike Clark and systems engineer Todd Berger,
both of R & D Industries, Inc. in Milford, addressed architects of the Iowa
Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) on Thursday, Sept. 5.
Their lecture, entitled "Focus on Architectural Acoustics in an Enclosed
Space", provided those attending with insight into how choices they make
as architects impact the functionality of their clients' spaces.
Clark and Berger also educated the architects on acoustic terminology and concepts
in order to assist in the acoustic success of building projects.
"This information can assist architects, builders, and owners in preventing
costly, post-construction fixes by creating correct acoustic environments during
the design phase of a project," said Clark.
Berger added: "The lecture gave attending architects a chance to ask questions
about past and future projects with respect to architectural acoustics."
R & D Industries is a member of the National Systems Contractors Association
